*** OVERVIEW ***
POCO A POCO (little by little, music term) was written for Sound
Blaster music card and for standard PC speaker. It also works
with Sound Blaster adaptable music cards (e.g., PORT*ABLE
Sound Plus for IBM PC compatible laptops thanks to program
BlasterMaster, Copyright by Digispeech, Inc., 1993, Palo Alto).
To create this program, Sound Blaster Card Library functions were
used. Sound Blaster Card Library, Copyright by Creative Labs, Inc.
1991.
POCO A POCO assists user in a comprehension of music education
values through the functions of Start Up screen and Main Meniu.
*** SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS ***
Version 1.0 allows:
- to listen polyphony melody
- to control tempo of the performance with keys

- to transpoze the melody if it is too high or
too low for your voice
- to change timbres for voices 1,2,3 with keys
F1,F2,F3
- to count rhythm with keys z, x, c, v, b, n, m
- to read Manual On-Line
- to choose sound environment to perform above
functions (with Sound Blaster whenever you
install it or without Sound Blaster Card)
- to choose one of the following modes from the
Main Meniu:
(1) Choose melody you wish to work on
(2) Memorize the melody in mode with support
on screen
(3) Test your memory in mode without support
on screen and earn real money toward Song
Collections or other SKYMUS products
(4) Play in direct (piano) mode or in accompa-
niment mode
(5) Exit
Press ESC in Start Up screen and you are in Main Meniu. From here
you may perform the above functions (1)-(5). The special feature
of POCO A POCO is a unique memorizing algorithm which helps to
develop internal memory skills while having fun in MEMORIZE, TEST
and PLAY modes. Concentration developed through this memorizing
algorithm will become valuable personal asset for user. Using
modes CHOOSE, MEMORIZE, TEST, PLAY, EXIT are self-explanatory and
doesn't require additional description.
*** SAMPLES OF EDUCATION TASKS ***
1. while POCO A POCO plays the melody
in the Start Up screen
(I) clap hands or press key z-m on
your computer keyboard;
I.a) every beat;
I.b) every other odd beat;
I.c) every other even beat;
I.d) every third beat (it's hard);
(II) try to sing voice 2
(III) change timbre of voice 1 every
other measure
(IV) perform various hands coordination
exercises in rhythm
2. based on Score results in TEST mode
organize mini competitions at home
or in class for the best performance.
It will activate memorizing process
When you try to do these education tasks you will conceive internal
elementary relations between music, math, and memory.Integration of
any subjects are important in our daily life.

TV shows of SKYMUS CO. on Hollywood Public Access TV Channel;
- 50% discount on one Song Collection;
- user support by mail;
ATTENTION!
- support to run POCO MEMORIZING competitions in user's local
community. The registrated program POCO A POCO would be sent
to the Winner of each competition (initiator should:
1. present shareware version of POCO A POCO to the Winner
while the registrated version arrive;
2. send Winner's picture and name;
3. send a video excerpt on VHS from the POCO MEMORIZING
competition to SKYMUS Co. with authorization to use
the video in TV programs of SKYMUS Co.;
4. cover postage expenses;
5. $20 to cover one Songs Collection.
*** EVALUATION PERIOD POCO A POCO ***
is three months. After this period the user is expected
to registrate the program.

*** CONTEXT OF USING P O C O A P O C O ***
Our music education company teaches children (from three years old)
and adults in Los Angeles. In our SKYMUS Co. we have commitment to
bring most obvious music education methods to our students. We
carry out this commitment through the elements of world famous
Suzuki, Orff, Kodaly music education systems also through the own
created methods.
Our students shared SKYMUS CO. educational approach already in
Japan, France, Israel, Taiwan, in various states of America.
Computer in this education process is not a purpose but an
instrument of support. It serves to make learning easier and more
natural, to help students to conceive structures of music knowledge
also human co-existent on the Earth. That is why our computer
software is simple from the technical point of view. It is not so
trivial when the student is performing education tasks while
computer program is in action.
